In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano sort through the 16 biggest draft busts in New York Jets history in the return of our March Madness bracket (in April) and discuss recent comments from Aaron Glenn, Darren Mougey, and Robert Saleh.
Justin and Mike were joined this week by Charlie Baduini — also of The Jet Press — to discuss recent comments made by Glenn and Mougey at this week's NFL league meetings in Phoenix. Glenn, in particular, had a quote that went semi-viral.
We then discussed a remark made by ex-Jets head coach Robert Saleh at the league meetings on Wednesday, in which he appeared to fire a shot at one of his former players. But who was it? Mekhi Becton? Zach Wilson? Someone else? We broke it all down!
The remainder of the show was dedicated to our March Madness-style 16-player bracket of the biggest draft busts in Jets history, featuring names such as Zach Wilson, Vernon Gholston, and Christian Hackenberg.
This Mike-made bracket also featured a number of old-school Jets draft busts, ranging from more high-profile names like Blair Thomas to busts of years past like Russell Carter and Dave Cadigan. We went deep in our bags for this tournament.
Who did we declare the ultimate Jets draft bust? Was it Gholston, the former sixth overall pick, who went his entire career without a sack? Was it Wilson, who might be one of the biggest quarterback busts in modern NFL history? Or was it Thomas, whose legacy put a stain on Penn State running backs for decades?
There's only one way to find out! Special shoutout to Charlie for joining us on this special episode of The Jet Press Podcast. The full show in its entirety, as always, can be seen below.
