In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano share their reactions to the New York Jets hiring Frank Reich as offensive coordinator, discuss potential quarterback options with ties to Reich, and talk about Nathaniel Hackett's return to the NFL's offensive coordinator world.

The show started with a reaction to the Jets' decision to hire Reich as their new offensive coordinator. Was this a good move for the Jets? Were there better options? Justin and Mike went into detail about the hire and what likely led the Jets down this path.

The Reich hire is probably best viewed in relation to the entire coaching search this offseason. That's because this was likely not the team's original plan — Woody Johnson may have played a role in forcing Aaron Glenn's hand.

Reich provides a baseline level of competency to the Jets' offense, but there are notable red flags to consider. We gave our overall thoughts on the hire, discussed potential coaching staff additions, and took a look at what this might mean for Glenn.

That transitioned into a discussion about potential quarterbacks to pair with the team's new offensive coordinator. The likes of Jacoby Brissett and Carson Wentz could each be available, and both signal-callers have ties to Reich.

Brissett feels like a more realistic — and appealing — target for the Jets. Justin and Mike also discussed potential quarterback options in the draft that could make sense in a Frank Reich offense, most notably Penn State's Drew Allar.

Does the Reich hire mean that the Jets are more or less likely to target quarterback prospects like Alabama's Ty Simpson or LSU's Garrett Nussmeier? What about Trinidad Chambliss out of Ole Miss, assuming he's even in this class?

Finally, Justin and Mike quickly discussed the unbelievable news that Mike LaFleur and the Arizona Cardinals had hired ex-Jets assistant Nathaniel Hackett as their new offensive coordinator. How could this happen? How does he keep getting away with it? No one knows.
