The Jet Press Podcast: ESPN disrespects the Jets, LB breakdown, player props

In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss ESPN's disrespect of the New York Jets, break down the team's linebackers, offer their takes on various Jets player props, and finish with another Jets Connections game.

The show opened with a heated discussion about Seth Walder's recent ESPN article, which gave the Jets a "C" grade for their offseason. While Justin and Mike acknowledged that reasonable criticism of the Jets' offseason can be made, they took issue with the logic behind Walder's evaluation.

His argument centered around the idea that the Jets shouldn't have invested in high-floor veterans because they're not a team that's looking to contend in 2026. Essentially, they signed too many good veteran players.

Not only is that a fundamental misunderstanding of NFL roster building, but he also never provided any realistic alternatives. Justin and Mike broke down why the criticism falls flat and why the Jets' offseason plan makes far more sense than Walder gives it credit for.

Next, the position preview series continues with a look at the Jets' linebacker room. How much will the addition of Demario Davis elevate the defense? Can he help Jamien Sherwood bounce back after a disappointing 2025 season?

Justin and Mike also discuss the team's linebacker depth and identify a few veteran free agents who could make sense before training camp. Bobby Okereke, anyone?
