In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss Breece Hall trade rumors, the state of the New York Jets panic meter, and preview the team's upcoming Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos in London.
The show started with an extensive discussion about Breece Hall and his future with the Jets. Hall's comments following the Jets' Week 5 loss to the Dallas Cowboys reignited rumors about his trade candidacy, and even after Braelon Allen's injury, it could still make sense.
Justin and Mike looked at both sides of the debate, analyzed Hall's future with the organization, and discussed what the Jets' running back room could look like for the remainder of 2025 and next season. There was some disagreement in this very in-depth conversation.
The vast majority of the show was devoted to the so-called "Jets Panic Meter," where we took a look at various coaches and players on the Jets roster and explained just how much concern we have with each aspect of the team.
The segment started with very lengthy discussions about the Jets' coaching staff, namely head coach Aaron Glenn, offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand, and defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.
Justin seemed to express more concern for the staff, specifically Glenn. While both Justin and Mike were relatively in agreement on Engstrand and Wilks, the Glenn conversation took up a bulk of the show and is worth listening to.
We also discussed a handful of struggling players on the Jets' roster, including the likes of Justin Fields, Sauce Gardner, Olu Fashanu, and Jamien Sherwood. Of the four, Sherwood was given the highest level of concern between the two hosts.
Fashanu and Gardner haven't been at their best, but both Justin and Mike hope they will be able to bounce back this season. As for Fields, the Jets have gotten roughly the caliber of performance they probably expected to get from the fifth-year quarterback. Still, he has plenty of room to improve.
Finally, Justin and Mike quickly discussed the Jets' upcoming Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos this Sunday. Do the Jets have any prayer of hope for a victory? Is there a path to winning? We broke it all down.
