In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss Aaron Rodgers' future with the NY Jets, the return of Mike Tannenbaum, and the team's midseason award winners in the return of the Woodys.
The show started with a discussion about Aaron Rodgers and his future with the organization. Multiple reports have come out about Rodgers over the last week, insisting he likely does not want to play for the Jets in 2025.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also reported that Rodgers has declined additional medical scans and is seemingly masking the severity of his injuries. Rodgers, of course, denied both claims in his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday.
Who should Jets fans believe? How much stock should be put into those reports and does Rodgers still have a future with the Jets? All of that was discussed.
The Jets received some flack this week following the announcement that the team had hired former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum and former Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman to help lead their search for a new regime this offseason.
While it's easy to poke fun at Tannenbaum's inclusion in the search, Justin and Mike agreed that this is probably the best route the Jets could have taken. Tannenbaum and Spielman will use their connections to hopefully find quality head coach and general manager candidates.
Finally, Justin and Mike introduced the podcast's second annual midseason award, also known as the Woodys. We broke down a number of Jets awards, ranging from MVP to LVP to Rookie of the Year to Most Improved Player and much more.
Who has been the biggest disappointment on the roster? Which players have been the best and worst offseason additions? Which players should the Jets be using more? All of that and much more was discussed.
