In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss whether the 2025 season has been a success or failure for the New York Jets and take a look at two separate two-round 2026 NFL Mock Drafts for the Jets.

The show started with a general discussion about the Jets' 2025 season, specifically whether this year has been a success or a failure for the organization. How do we grade the Jets' season to this point?

The first seven games were an abject failure for the Jets, but the team has put together much more respectable results in recent weeks. At 2-9, is it safe to say the Jets have fallen short of expectations? That depends on who you ask.

What are our expectations for the remainder of the 2025 season? How many more games will the Jets win? How many more games do we want the Jets to win? This was a fun conversation.

The vast majority of the rest of the show was devoted to Mike and Justin going through each of their respective two-round mock draft for the Jets. Mike's mock saw the Jets land Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the fourth overall pick, but Justin took a different approach.

In his mock, Justin had the Jets passing on a quarterback — Mendoza and Ty Simpson were off the board — just to look at a hypothetical scenario where the team didn't select a quarterback. Instead, he went for Miami edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. with the fourth pick.

Both Mike and Justin went with Oregon prospects at pick 28, with Mike giving the Jets a new edge rusher in Matayo Uiagalelei, while Justin made the controversial selection of tight end Kenyon Sadiq. The Jets need another pass-catcher, and pairing Sadiq with Mason Taylor could give the team a deadly tight end duo.

Mike and Justin went in the same direction in Round 2, each taking a big-bodied X receiver at pick No. 38 — Tennessee’s Chris Brazzell II and Indiana’s Elijah Sarratt — before both mocked a safety to the Jets at No. 45, selecting Oregon’s Dillon Thieneman and LSU’s A.J. Haulcy, respectively.

Let us know which mock draft you prefer!

Finally, Justin and Mike briefly previewed the Jets' upcoming Week 12 game against the Atlanta Falcons, with both hosts actually predicting a Jets victory. The absences of Michael Penix Jr. and Drake London should help that cause.
