Zach Wilson and 10 standouts from the NY Jets' Green & White Scrimmage
By Justin Fried
MetLife Stadium played host to the NY Jets' annual Green & White Scrimmage this past Saturday. Fans piled into the 82,500-seat stadium on a warm New Jersey evening to witness their team's first "competitive" outing of the summer.
The night may have concluded with a fireworks show, but the Jets made sure to provide plenty of their own fireworks throughout the evening.
The event featured periods of scripted 7-on-7s, scripted 11-on-11s, and unscripted 11-on-11s. The Jets split their offenses and defenses into three "teams" that competed against each other in this intra-squad scrimmage.
The actual scrimmage itself started off with a bang as both the first and second-team offenses drove down the field and scored on their first possessions. Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco came out dealing, but it didn't take long for the defense to take over.
Following some early offensive success, the Jets' defense began to shut the door and they even managed to record a pair of interceptions later in the night. In the end, fans were left with plenty of positive takeaways and a number of encouraging standouts.
How did Zach Wilson perform? Did any of the young players on offense rise to the occasion? How did the defense hold up? Those are the questions we're set to answer today.
Let's take a look at 10 notable standouts from Saturday's Green & White Scrimmage.
