In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss just how big of a problem Zach Wilson is, if the NY Jets should bench him for Trevor Siemian, and preview the upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
This episode was all about the Jets' current starting quarterback. Wilson and the Jets offense have struggled mightily this season, and this past week's matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers was a microcosm of the team's offensive woes.
Wilson held onto the ball too long, was inaccurate with his ball placement, and committed two crucial turnovers. His offensive line did him no favors. Neither did his wide receivers or his play-calling. Still, it's become clear that Wilson is a problem.
He's far from the only problem with this Jets' offense, but he is the biggest problem by virtue of being the quarterback. It's become undeniable at this point.
Justin and Mike dispelled common myths about Wilson and discussed whether or not it's time for the Jets to turn to Trevor Siemian. Spoiler: it is. So why haven't the Jets made the switch yet? We have our theories.
The final topic of discussion was a brief conversation about the Jets' upcoming Week 10 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Is this a game the Jets should win? What should the game plan be going into the game?
Under the bright lights of Sunday Night Football, Wilson might once again be fighting for his starting job. Does he salvage his job with a strong performance, as he did against the Kansas City Chiefs a few weeks ago, or could this be the end of the road for the third-year quarterback?
