In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss the bombshell report from The Athletic that details the NY Jets' organizational dysfunction. Rex Hogan's departure and the 2024 Senior Bowl are also discussed.
The conversation kicked off with a summary of The Athletic report about the Jets' dysfunction, involving offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, head coach Robert Saleh, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The report paints a picture of organizational malpractice, excuse-making, and incompetence on the part of the Jets' coaching staff. Much of what was discussed in the article shouldn't come as a serious surprise, but it's still alarming to see.
Justin and Mike had varied viewpoints on how significant the report is. How much blame should be placed on Saleh and the coaching staff for the Jets' struggles? Should this sour fans on Saleh's leadership abilities?
The Jets also made some news of their own on Wednesday, parting ways with assistant general manager Rex Hogan. The timing of the news was notable, given the story that leaked earlier in the day. Could Hogan have any connection to The Athletic's report?
Justin and Mike discussed Hogan's departure and what it means for the future of the organization. Could any shake-ups be coming with the coaching staff and front office?
