In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss Mike Williams's return, how the Brandon Aiyuk trade impacts the NY Jets, some 53-man roster predictions, and a preview of the Jets' first preseason game against the Washington Commanders.

The show started with a discussion about the breaking news that Jets wide receiver Mike Williams had officially been activated off the PUP list. Williams is officially back ahead of schedule, which is massive news for the Jets' wide receiver room.

The conversation then shifted to the ongoing Brandon Aiyuk trade rumors and now his expected departure from San Francisco impacts the Jets. Aiyuk is seemingly expected to be traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, which is definitely a best-case scenario for the Jets.

Not only will the Jets likely not have to play Aiyuk when they take on the 49ers in Week 1, but they won't have to worry about him going to the AFC East or any true contenders. This was the best possible outcome.

Justin and Mike each went through their respective 53-man roster predictions ahead of the preseason. There were plenty of disagreements, ranging from the wide receiver room to the running back depth chart to both the offensive and defensive lines. Who do you agree with more?

Finally, Justin and Mike previewed the Jets' upcoming preseason Week 1 matchup against the Commanders this Saturday. Mike wants to see some creativity out of Nathaniel Hackett, but that might be wishful thinking.

We discussed a variety of Jets players who have a lot to gain or lose this weekend including Jason Brownlee, Israel Abanikanda, and rookie safety Jaylen Key. There are plenty of players to keep an eye on.
