In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss the latest Haason Reddick drama, Sam Darnold's potential revival, and the NY Jets' preseason victory over the Washington Commanders on Saturday. We also preview this week's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.

The first half of the show was dedicated almost exclusively to talking about the latest development in the Haason Reddick saga. Reddick officially requested a trade from the organization on Monday, adding a new layer to this increasingly troublesome situation.

That said, the Jets still hold the majority of the leverage here. Justin and Mike give their takes on who is to blame for Reddick's ongoing holdout and offer their opinions as to how this situation will eventually be resolved.

Could Reddick theoretically hold out for the entire 2024 season? Should the Jets cave and give him the extension he's looking for? Is a trade actually a possibility? All of that was discussed.

The next topic of discussion surrounded former Jets quarterback Sam Darnold and the golden opportunity he has been given in Minnesota following the unfortunate news that rookie J.J. McCarthy will miss the entire 2024 season after tearing his meniscus.

Darnold is the uncontested starting quarterback in Minnesota, and the Vikings have a supporting cast and coaching staff that could make life very easy for the former Jets draft bust. Could this be the start of Darnold's revenge tour?

Finally, Justin and Mike spoke about the Jets' preseason victory over the Washington Commanders on Saturday and previewed the team's upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers.

Adrian Martinez, Andrew Peasley, Braelon Allen, and Jarrick Bernard-Converse all emerged as key standouts for the Jets in the first preseason game. Who are some players to keep an eye on this weekend?
