2. The NY Jets could target Michigan State’s Kenneth Walker III

The Jets got an absolute steal with Michael Carter in Round 4 last year, and while many may see this as a reach, Kenneth Walker would be the perfect complement to the team's current backfield.

Despite all the work this team has done, they still need help around Zach Wilson. Adding a receiver in Round 1 and the punishing Walker in Round 2 would give him all the help he needs to start fulfilling his potential.

Walker is a powerful back and would complement Carter's elusive style perfectly, and with youth on their side, this would allow the entire offense to grow alongside the young QB.

3. The NY Jets could target edge rusher Boye Mafe

While the Jets would ideally like to address edge in Round 1, they don’t want to reach for a player that they don’t believe in. If the board falls a certain way, we could see the Jets waiting until Day 2 to address that position.

If that were to happen, the explosive Boye Mafe from Minnesota could be the perfect consolation prize in Round 2 and could form a great pairing with the hopefully healthy Carl Lawson.

The more likely scenario is that the Jets take edge at pick No. 4 or No. 10, but as we can see in this ESPN mock draft, if the top three edge rushers are off the board when the Jets first find themselves on the clock, this is entirely possible.
