The NY Jets have a plethora of picks in the top two rounds of the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft, and while it’s hard to predict just who will fall to Round 2, there will be plenty of great talent available for the Jets at picks No. 35 and No. 38.

If the two first-round picks the Jets possess play out well, two big needs could be filled on Day 2. And if the board falls right, this could be an all-time draft that helps this young core develop going forward.

While New York still has plenty of needs to help this team catch up with the rest of the AFC, they were able to draft Elijah Moore in Round 2 a year ago, so hopes should be high for the Jets coming into the 2022 NFL Draft.

If the Jets are to keep their second-round picks in lieu of trading for a receiver like Deebo Samuel, DK Metcalf, or A.J. Brown, these are the top five targets they should look to draft, assuming said players fall to Day 2.

1. The NY Jets could draft safety Jalen Pitre

After trading away Jamal Adams and losing Marcus Maye in free agency, the Jets have a need for depth at safety, even after the signing of Jordan Whitehead, and Jalen Pitre could be a future starter for this team.

Pitre is physical against the run and provides talent in coverage, and while he’s not a finished product yet, he could be one of the best Day 2 players in the draft.

Lewis Cine is also an option here, and while he may not make it to pick No. 35, if it came down to a battle of choosing between these two talented safeties, the Jets may go ahead and take Pitre for his fit with this team.
