Ranking the most exciting NY Jets home games in the 2022 season
6. NY Jets vs. Chicago Bears (Week 12) - November 27th, 1 pm ET
All eyes will be on the two second-year quarterbacks with Justin Fields and Zach Wilson facing off for the first time. The way that the Jets and Bears have set up their young signal-callers couldn’t be any different.
Wilson will be entering an offense with revamped weapons and an upgraded offensive line, plus the same coaching staff and playbook. None of those things are true for Justin Fields.
If the Jets want to back up much of the offseason praise that they are getting, this is another game that they should take care of business.
One cool aspect of this game will be an Ohio State reunion. Fields will see two of his former weapons on the opposing side in Garrett Wilson and Jeremy Ruckert.
Something makes me think that at some point during the game, Fields will have the thought of “damn I miss having those guys” cross his mind. A family affair at MetLife Stadium after a few days of Thanksgiving leftovers doesn't sound half bad if you ask me.
7. NY Jets vs. Detroit Lions (Week 15) - December 18th, 1 pm ET
Senior Bowl buddies reunite! In different ways, the Jets and Lions are making moves that should have their fan base feeling excited about the future of their teams.
With that being said, the Jets need to beat the Lions at home (ideally by a lot of points). Jared Goff is an average football player at best and the Jets have the better team all-around.
The members of the 2022 draft class will be frequently compared throughout their careers. Some interesting ones to note for this matchup will be Jameson Williams (who should be playing by this point of the season) vs. Garrett Wilson as well as Aidan Hutchinson vs. Jermaine Johnson.
It will also be fun to see Gardner go up against Williams as he called him out as one of the better players he has guarded in his career. One of the best games in recent history was the Jets' Week 1 victory over the Lions. Hopefully, the good vibes against this team will continue.
8. NY Jets vs. Buffalo Bills (Week 9) - November 6th, 1 pm ET
I will keep this one short. The Bills are probably the best team in football and this game will be at the back end of an extremely tough stretch for the Jets.
If you want to hold out hope that the Jets can win this one, I wish you the best of luck. A competitive loss against the Bills will be a victory in my book heading into what will be a much-needed bye week.
