4. The NY Jets seemingly landed a fantastic head coach

While the play on the field has left plenty to be desired for New York, their work on the sidelines has been just as bad, as Douglas had to deal with Adam Gase as the team's head coach when his reign as general manager first began.

After a terrible season, the organization gave him the chance to land his own head coach, and with that move, Douglas landed one of the most sought-after names in the entire league in former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.

He's yet to lead the team back to the playoffs, but Saleh has been a big reason for the recent turnaround in the culture for this New York team, and after landing all the talent on the field, it's up to him to prove just how good a coach he can be in the 2023 season.

3. The NY Jets got a haul for a disgruntled safety

When Joe Douglas took over this franchise, the roster was mediocre in some places and downright terrible in others, but one successful group was safety, led by former sixth-overall pick and Pro Bowl star Jamal Adams.

Early in the time of this regime, Adams became disgruntled with his role, however, requesting a trade, and while many expected him to land a solid-sized package, it was a great deal for Douglas. He sent Adams to the Seattle Seahawks for a starting-caliber safety along with two first-round picks and a third-round draft selection.

With those picks (and the aforementioned AVT trade), the Jets landed themselves a key piece for this offensive line going forward, as well as Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson, and while many fans wish Adams the best following his antics, it's safe to say that this was a great move for the Jets.
