Predictions for the final 3 games of the NY Jets season
By Cade Cracas
Week 17: NY Jets @ Seattle Seahawks
This week might be one of the most important weeks of the season for both playoff chances and a reality check for the Jets' defensive backs.
With two dominant wide receivers in Tyler Lockett (if he plays) and DK Metcalf, the opportunity for the Jets' defensive backs to get outplayed technically and outplayed physically is there.
At this point in the season, whoever the Jets starting quarterback is needs to be on top of their game. With how the trend has gone this season, the most viable option is Wilson, but White could make a case if he's cleared for contact.
If Wilson is still QB1, he will need to showcase movement in the pocket alongside an increase in scrambling. This week will be extremely important in determining playoff matchups and whether or not the Jets make the playoffs.
At this point, if the Jets are 9-7, their playoff hopes are in good spirits, but anything less could put their season in dire jeopardy.
My Prediction
I believe this contest will be a loss for the Jets. After defeating the Jaguars, their confidence will be high, but against a team led by a roster that has defied the odds all season long, they will be ready to swing in the final two weeks of the season.
This loss would put the Jets at 8-8, making Week 18 a must-win contest. At this point, you also start to rely on other teams to lose and win to help out your odds. This is a situation you do not want to be in.
