Predicting every national TV game for the NY Jets this season
By Mike Luciano
The NY Jets have put their nightmare from 2023 in the past, as they have surrounded Aaron Rodgers with a collection of quality offensive linemen and pass catchers to make up for a difficult campaign last year. This team is ready to chase a championship and break the Jets' decade-long postseason drought.
The Jets' demise last year was televised for the whole football world to see, as the promise of Rodgers helped them land in primetime multiple times. Assuming that Rodgers will be healthy once again, the Jets will be firmly in the national view once more.
Expect the Jets to get multiple Sunday Night contests as the league tries to shove Rodgers' comeback in the public's face. After years of being an also-ran no one gave more than a passing interest to, the Jets are one of the biggest shows in town.
Predicting every national TV game for the NY Jets in 2024 season
Jets at Bills: Thursday Night Football
The Jets and Bills will be the two favorites for the AFC East this season, and the league will likely try to get them in primetime at least once. It will be hard to deny Rodgers and Allen more primetime opportunities, especially when these two rivals could go up against one another in a rematch of Rodgers' four-play cameo from last season.
Jets at 49ers: Sunday Night Football
Rodgers' inability to take down the 49ers in the postseason is well known to even casual fans of the NFL, and he will get another chance to patch up that wound. It helps that the 49ers are also the favorite to win the NFC once again, setting up a ferocious clash of wills between Robert Saleh and Kyle Shanahan.
Texans at Jets: Sunday Night Football
While CJ Stroud and the Texans became one of the best young teams in the league, Zach Wilson put together the best game of his career to torch Houston 30-6 last season. With both teams now at full strength, Saleh will try to add another win over his protegee in DeMeco Ryans.
Patriots at Jets: Monday Night Football
The Jets will finally have the chance to take control of this rivalry. They will contend for a championship while New England tries to start the Drake Maye era on the right foot. The present and future of this division and overall rivalry will collide in this hypothetical duel in primetime.
