The New York Jets were all over the headlines last season after acquiring Aaron Rodgers, but a year removed from the fateful trade and the subsequent injury to Rodgers, the Jets are more of a sleeping giant, needing to prove its worth to prove its a contender.
Well, the Jets are picking at No. 10 in next Thursday’s NFL Draft, able to leverage its poor season due to a myriad of issues, namely injuries, so the team can continue to fortify its high-end talent. While the team can go in different directions, oddsmakers have pegged offensive line as the favorite.
There are plenty of interesting avenues the team can take at No. 10, including targeting a pass catcher for Rodgers like Rome Odunze or Brock Bowers, but the most prudent path may be at offensive line, which could be flush at that spot in the draft.
While much of the chatter around this year’s draft is around quarterbacks and wide receivers inside the top 10, there is a possibility that the likes of top offensive line prospect Joe Alt, and highly touted Olumuyiwa Fashanu are all available for Gang Green.
However, there is no denying that the Jets are in win-now mode and can use all the help it can get on offense, which is why tight end (namely Brock Bowers) has been linked to New York often through the process.
Further, if Rome Odunze is able to make it to No. 10, he might have the talent that tantalizes the Jets.
Overall, the Jets are in an advantageous position to make the roster even stronger around Rodgers next season. Below, you’ll find the betting odds for what position the Jets will select first.
