The New York Jets 2023 campaign was over before it started when their big offseason acquisition, Aaron Rodgers, tore his Achilles just plays into the season.
The good news is Rodgers is set to return to the Jets and attempt to give the team a full season of production, as long as he can stay health. Is a healthy Rodgers is going to be enough for the Jets to compete with the Bills and Dolphins in the AFC East?

Oddsmakers have little faith in Jets in AFC East race
There was a lot of hype surrounding the Jets heading into the 2023 season, but that hype isn't nearly as strong heading into the 2024 campaign. The Jets' odds of winning the AFC East are set at +290, which is an implied probability of 25.64%. A $100 bet on them to win the division would win you a profit of $290 if they're able to achieve the feat.
The Bills (+130) and Dolphins (+190) are set well ahead of the Jets. The good news is the Patriots are last by a significant margin with +1700 odds of managing to find a way to win the division.
It's not all bad news for the Jets. They have one of the most elite defenses in the NFL. Last season, they allowed the second-fewest yards per game at 292.3. Unfortunately, their offense was abysmal, but there's still a solid chance that Rodgers can fix that problem. Yes, he's 40 years old, but if he can play at even a portion of the level he has shown in his MVP campaigns, this Jets team is going to be a contender in the division.
If you want to bet on the Jets to get the job done, you should be happy that oddsmakers are disrespecting them. It just means you have a chance to win even more money by betting on them.
