The NY Jets are hoping that young quarterback Zach Wilson will earn his fair share of awards and accolades throughout the course of his NFL career.

And on Thursday, he was officially awarded with what will hopefully be the first of many such honors.

Wilson was named the NFL's Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week following his standout performance against the Tennessee Titans that saw him finish 21-of-34 for 297 yards and two touchdowns.

It was a breakout game for Wilson who has run into some expected rookie struggles to start the season. But those struggles all but disappeared on Sunday as he put together the best performance of his young NFL career.

As a sign of appreciation for Wilson's big day, the Jets made sure to congratulate their rookie quarterback on his first professional accolade.

His teammates sure seemed happy to learn that Wilson had been named Rookie of the Week.

Zach Wilson has quickly won over his NY Jets teammates

Wilson has wasted little time earning the respect and admiration of his teammates. It's evident in that video.

The likes of Morgan Moses, Corey Davis, and others look overjoyed for Wilson with the former playfully insisting that he's his "biggest fan."

The Jets have rallied around Wilson and accepted him as one of their team leaders. Not bad for a 22-year-old from Utah who some insisted had "character concerns."

The Jets will hope to see a similar version of Wilson take the field this Sunday in London when the Jets battle the 1-3 Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta is fresh off a high-scoring 34-30 loss to the Washington Football Team, but they do own a win over the Jets' crosstown rivals, the NY Giants.

Falcons defensive coordinator Dean Pees was very complimentary of Wilson when speaking about him to reporters this week.

"The guy's a good athlete, the guy has a really, really strong arm. He really makes plays out of the pocket very, very well. He makes things difficult in the rush and when he gets out of the pocket, he's extremely dangerous."

The Jets will look to make it two straight victories as they hope to head into their bye week with a 2-3 record.
