The NY Jets pulled off a 13-point comeback to secure their 31-30 win over the Cleveland Browns thanks to a multitude of defensive errors from Cleveland, and a breakout performance from rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

Wilson returned to his collegiate state of Ohio, after leaving Ohio State last season to enter in the 2022 NFL Draft, and dominated against Cleveland. The rookie wideout recorded a team-high eight receptions (including the game-winner), 102 yards, and two touchdowns to secure the comeback victory.

When looking at his stats on the surface level, it's apparent that he put up an outstanding performance in his second-ever NFL game, but when you dive deeper the game pops off the paper.

Wilson became the first ever rookie wide receiver in Jets history to record a 100-yard and multi-touchdown stat line in the same game. His performance wasn't just impressive — it was historic.

Garrett Wilson made NY Jets history in Week 2

He continuously broke off the defensive back guarding him and created space as he was targeted 14 times in the win. His historic performance showcases how high the ceiling is for him going forward.

After his first performance against the Baltimore Ravens where he recorded four receptions for 52 yards, this Week 2 matchup was huge to boost the front office's confidence.

Not only did Wilson put up an eye-popping stat line, but he went down in the third quarter after a massive shot from rookie defensive back Martin Emerson and still re-entered the game.

He showed incredible amounts of confidence and comfort throughout the contest including down the stretch as he led the team to a game-winning drive.

After seeing this performance from the rookie in Week 2 against the Browns, the decision to take him with the 10th overall selection starts to take shape as a strong selection.

Going forward, the Jets' will definitely rely on Wilson as their primary target for clutch moments. He showed that when they look his way he can make a play happen.
