NY Jets football is officially back! In week one the Jets are traveling to Charlotte to take on the Carolina Panthers. This game has a lot of intrigue as the new-look Jets are taking on former quarterback Sam Darnold and his new team.

With all the intrigue that this game carries from a storyline standpoint, I'm excited to dive into some of the betting action that this game has to offer. While I do like some of the action on the spread and the total, I'm particularly interested in the player props.

This could have something to do with my affinity for fantasy football, but as a Jets fan who will be watching this game, I will be paying close attention to the offensive players on both sides of this game.

Let's dive into some of my favorite bets this week, all courtesy of WynnBet.

NY Jets quarterback Zach Wilson's prop for passing yardage this week is 230.5 (o/u)

The total over/under for the game total sits at 44.0 and the Jets are four-point underdogs. This implies they may be trailing against a Carolina Panthers offense that has talented skill position players.

Due to this, Zach Wilson and the Jets may have to keep pace which could lead to a lot of pass attempts for the rookie quarterback in his debut. I think there will be enough volume this week for Wilson to surpass the prop, something I think will be a recurring theme this season.

My Projection: 264 passing yards

NY Jets wide receiver Corey Davis has an over/under on total receptions set at 4.5

This is honestly my favorite bet of the weekend when it comes to the NY Jets. Corey Davis has assumed the alpha role for the Jets. He and Wilson have developed some really nice chemistry which should help in Wilson's first NFL regular-season start.

Davis could very well see talented rookie Jaycee Horn at times, but Davis will move around the formation a decent amount. He's the focal point of this Jets passing attack and will have opportunities schemed up for him.

With the potential back and forth nature of this game and the absence of Jamison Crowder, it is possible that Davis is hyper-targeted in this one leading to double-digit targets.

If Davis can see 10-plus targets, with his career 61 percent catch rate, he should be a shoo-in for five-plus receptions.

My Projection: 6 receptions

Panthers WR D.J. Moore has a receiving yards prop bet of 60.5 (o/u)

While there is a ton of attention being paid to Robby Anderson, all my focus will be on Moore when it comes to Carolina's receiving weapons. He is their most dynamic player not named Christian McCaffrey.

Moore had 1,193 receiving yards last year averaging 18.1 yards per catch. He led all Carolina wide receivers in both average depth of target (aDOT) and yards after catch per reception. He is a dynamic player that the Jets' secondary will struggle to stop.

My Projection: 81 receiving yards

NY Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore has a receiving yards prop of 44.5 (o/u)

This will be the first time that Jets fans get to watch Elijah Moore in game action for the green and white. Moore has been talked about as a dynamic weapon all summer for rookie quarterback Zach Wilson to have at his disposal.

He is someone that has been making plays deep as well as in the short passing game this summer with the ability to create yards after the catch. I've talked about the potential back and forth nature of this game and how that could dictate what the Jets do offensively.

With the anticipated game script, it's plausible to think the Jets lean on a player that's already been dubbed as the team's most explosive player on offense.

With the news of Crowder being out for this game, that should lead to more opportunities here for the rookie.

My Projection: 57 receiving yards
