The NY Jets unveiled a new black alternate helmet that the team will debut during the 2022 season. Here's how Jets players reacted to the reveal.

Per the NFL's revised policy, teams are allowed to wear two different helmets starting this season, and the rule change has led to some very stylish newly introduced headgear around the league. The Dallas Cowboys opted for an all-white classic look, and the New York Giants also threw it back with a clean navy helmet design.

The Jets' alternate helmets may not have as much a retro feel as those of the Cowboys or the Giants, but they're still very, very classy indeed.

The so-called "Stealth Black" helmets took inspiration from fighter jets and features a subtle chrome green face mask. Along with the team's "Stealth Black" uniform, the helmet will be donned at three Jets homes games at MetLife Stadium.

Many Jets players were pumped up about the alternate helmets including wideout Elijah Moore, running back Michael Carter, and linebacker Quincy Williams.

"Our alternate helmets are the definition of swaggy. Definitely honored to rock out in those."

Elijah Moore

"We have the best alternate helmet in the league. The Jets Fam is going to love it and I'm so excited and blessed to help unveil it."

Michael Carter

"When I put that all-black on plus the black helmet, I instantly feel like Spider-Man when he became Venom."

Quincy Williams

New York could have gone for a vintage Kelly green look or even changed things up with a blue and gold colorway reminiscent of the New York Titans, but the matte black design has garnered praise from players and fans alike.

This marks the first time that Gang Green will sport a black helmet shell, and hopefully the Jets will play as good as they look on the field.
