Week 2: NY Jets vs. New England Patriots

Here it is Jets fans, Robert Saleh’s first crack at Bill Belichick as a head coach. Known for his phenomenal defenses during his time with the San Francisco 49ers, Saleh will look to slow down a revamped Patriots offense.

At the same time, who knows who might be starting for the Patriots this season? It could wind up being the veteran Cam Newton. Maybe it is another 2021 NFL Draft pick in Alabama’s Mac Jones.

The bottom line is that the Jets' best chance every year of beating the Patriots comes at home. Except, they have not done it since Ryan Fitzpatrick pulled off some magic in 2015.

Prediction: Loss (0-2)

Week 3: NY Jets @ Denver Broncos

To many NFL players, playing at Mile High Stadium is a task given the thin air present. But that will not be the case for Zach Wilson. In fact, for the Utah native, this is not that far off from playing in his own backyard.

Unlike the Jets, the Broncos gave their former early-round draft pick quarterback another shot in 2021. Drew Lock is the team’s starter, with former Jet Teddy Bridgewater now creeping in behind him.

Yes, the Broncos are a very talented team. Nevertheless, do not be surprised if the Jets snag their first win of the Zach Wilson era on the road.

Prediction: Win (1-2)

Week 4: NY Jets vs. Tennessee Titans

As previously mentioned, Saleh is a former defensive coordinator. In this game, his squad will look to stop an absolute force in Titans running back Derrick Henry.

If the Jets have any shot of winning this game, it starts with stopping Henry. After that, it comes down to whether or not former Titan Corey Davis and the offense can get the ball moving against a stout Tennessee defense.

Prediction: Loss (1-3)
