NY Jets 53-man roster will likely still change before Week 1
As noted earlier, this is very likely not the final version of the Jets' roster that we will see entering Week 1. It's expected that some roster tweaking will be done over the next few days.
Teams have until 12 pm ET on Wednesday to finalize waiver claims, and not only will the Jets probably have some of their own players claimed by other teams, but they could make an addition or two.
General manager Joe Douglas has found significant success with waiver claims in the past. Quincy Williams, John Franklin-Myers, and even Braxton Berrios are some examples of successful waiver claims in recent years.
The Jets also still have to finalize their 16-man practice squad. Many of the players released/waived as part of final roster cuts could be candidates to stick around on the practice squad for the time being.
For now, this is your first look at the Jets' roster. Expect plenty more changes to come in the near future as the Jets prepare for their highly anticipated meeting with the 49ers in two weeks.
