Week 4 officially marks the return of NY Jets quarterback Zach Wilson who is set to make his 2022 debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday. And according to the man himself, he feels as healthy as ever.

Wilson was a full participant in Wednesday's practice for the first time since August 10th prior to his knee injury. The second-year quarterback spoke to the media after practice and insisted that he was "100%" and "ready to go."

The Jets kept Wilson sidelined for a bit longer than the initial 4-6 week timetable, mostly because they wanted him to be as healthy as possible before returning. They took "not rushing him" to the next level.

Wilson has slowly been integrated back into practice over the last few weeks, another reason the Jets opted not to place him on the injured reserve. They wanted him practicing.

The goal was not to throw Wilson back out there until they believed he was completely healthy, both from a physical and mental standpoint. Now, they believe he's ready — and Wilson is eager to return to the gridiron.

Zach Wilson enters a crucial 2022 season with the NY Jets

The Jets drafted Wilson second overall in the 2021 NFL Draft with the belief that he could be the long-awaited franchise quarterback the team had been searching for. His rookie season, however, was mostly a struggle.

Wilson was statistically one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, made worse by a supporting cast depleted by injuries. The hope is that Wilson can take a significant step forward in his sophomore NFL season. For the Jets, it's really the only thing that matters this year.

The Jets need to figure out if Wilson can be the guy moving forward. The knee injury was a far-from-ideal way to start the season, but Wilson now has 14 starts to prove that he can be the Jets' quarterback of the future.

Another performance like last season and all bets are off regarding his (and the Jets) future.

Zach Wilson is 100% healthy and ready to go for Week 4. The Jets' season starts now.
