The NY Jets are set to take on a familiar division foe in Week 2 as they return home to face the New England Patriots.

Fresh off of disappointing loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 1, the Jets will be looking to avoid falling to 0-2 against an opponent in a similar position.

The Patriots lost a tight 17-16 game to the Miami Dolphins this past Sunday, helped in part by a late-game Damien Harris fumble. Heading into Week 2, the Patriots can ill-afford to fall to 0-2 with two divisional losses.

Who will emerge as the victor in this always anticipated division rivalry?

NY Jets vs. Patriots Odds Week 2

The total over/under for the game is set at 43.0 points.

NY Jets vs. Patriots Prediction Week 2

The Jets will be at home for this game which should give them a slight advantage, but it's telling that they're still 5.5-point underdogs despite playing on their home turf. It's hard to argue with that either.

The Jets' offensive line was a trainwreck in Week 1 against a talented Panthers front-seven. However, Carolina's defense used vanilla fronts as compared to what the Patriots will bring to the table.

If the Jets can't protect Zach Wilson, this is going to be a long, long game. It's hard to see them finding much offensive success unless the offensive line comes ready to play on Sunday.

On top of that, injuries continue to take their toll with the Jets losing a pair of defensive starters this past week. They're thin at safety and linebacker which could allow Mac Jones to make some plays if the Jets can't get consistent pressure.

Let's call it a 24-10 Patriots victory.
