NY Jets Mock Draft: 5 first-round targets for Gang Green
By Justin Fried
The NY Jets have made a number of high-profile additions in the NFL Draft in recent years. From the likes of Zach Wilson and Alijah Vera-Tucker in this year's draft to Mekhi Becton the year earlier, the first round has been a busy time for Gang Green.
The Jets will have two selections to make in the 2022 NFL Draft as a result of the Jamal Adams trade that continues to pay dividends. And at the time of writing, those two picks seem destined to bring the Jets pretty good value.
At 1-5, the Jets appear to be headed for one of the worst records in the NFL yet again. While it might not seem like a worthwhile consolation prize anymore, that will net them one of the top picks in the 2022 draft.
But it's not only their first-round pick that they will have the opportunity to use. They'll also have the first-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks.
Following an injury to Russell Wilson, the Seahawks sit at 2-5 through seven weeks and are currently slated to pick seventh overall in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Now, Wilson's return should help matters, it but won't be a surprise at all to see Seattle select in the top-15 when all is said and done.
Recently, we took a look at four 2022 NFL Draft prospects that Jets fans should keep an eye on. For the sake of avoiding repetition, none of those prospects will be included on this list.
With the Jets set to pick very high in next year's draft, let's take a look at five early first-round prospects the team could target.
