The NY Jets have been struggling to find a consistent answer at the kicker position for years now, but it seems as though Greg Zuerlein might be the solution.

A week after tying the Jets' franchise record for longest field goal with a 57-yard kick a week ago, Zuerlein set a new record this week when he connected on a 60-yard field goal to close the first half in the team's Week 13 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Zuerlein has been a revelation for the Jets this season connecting on 18-of-22 field goals and 24-of-25 extra points going into the week. He made 5-of-7 field goals from over 50 yards.

Now, he's added a 60-yarder to his Jets resume. That 60-yard field goal isn't a career-high as Zuerlein connected on a 61-yarder back in 2015 when he was with the St. Louis Rams.

Greg Zuerlein has been excellent for the NY Jets this season

The Jets signed Zuerlein to a one-year contract this past offseason with the hope that the former All-Pro kicker could provide a solution to the team's long-standing kicker issues.

From Chandler Catanzaro to Taylor Bertolet to Kaare Vedvik to Sam Ficken to Matt Ammendola to any number of the Jets' failed kickers over the last few years, Zuerlein has provided the upgrade the team was looking for.

Zuerlein's 60-yard field goal cut the Vikings' lead to 20-6 going into the half, a crucial kick that cut Minnesota's lead to just two scores.
