NFL Network has released players 80-71 on the official NFL Top 100, where NFL players vote for their peers on the top 100 players in the league today. We figured that we'd see some Jets on this year's list, which has been a rarity since 2016 (only once if we consider guys who were Jets before and after the vote occurred).
Lo and behold, our prediction has come true: the first Jet on the list was announced on Wednesday — Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
Wilson was ranked No. 74, and the reasons presented in the clip shared highlight his incredible success with four subpar quarterbacks throwing him the football last year.
Despite the rough conditions, Wilson was able to excel and break quite a few Jets records en route to being named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2022.
NY Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson could be even better in 2023
Wilson's future in 2023 looks bright, with Aaron Rodgers now throwing him the ball, and his peers seem to agree, ranking him among the best in the league. The sky is the limit for Wilson this season.
We'll have to wait and see ultimately where he is ranked among his fellow receivers, but so far, his ranking of 74 is higher than DeAndre Hopkins (90), Terry McLaurin (94), and DeVonta Smith (100).
Going by previous years, which usually have no more than 15-20 receivers on the Top 100, it's safe to say NFL players view him as a top 16-ish receiver in the league right now.
I can't wait to see how that number changes on next year's list!
