QB Losers

Sam Darnold, Carolina Panthers | 3.4 fantasy points

First things first: Sam Darnold will be the Carolina Panthers' starting quarterback again in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons. In the loss to the New York Giants, Darnold completed just 16 of his 25 pass attempts, scoring just 111 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.

Also due to the performances in the previous two weeks (a total of only one touchdown with five interceptions), Darnold was benched at the end of the game and replaced by backup P.J. Walker.

Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers | 5.2 fantasy points

Jimmy Garoppolo couldn't prevent the loss to the Indianapolis Colts after the bye week. His calf problem seemed to be over, but Garoppolo still completed only 16-of-27 pass attempts for 181 yards and a touchdown.

On the flip side, there are also two interceptions and two fumbles. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kyle Shanahan start Trey Lance over Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 8, assuming both are fit.

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs | 6.7 fantasy points

Patrick Mahomes experienced a pitch-black day against the Tennessee Titans. Not only did he take a hard hit to the head at the end of the game, but his numbers were anything but stellar.

Mahomes completed 20-of-35 passes for 206 yards and a touchdown, but also threw an interception (his ninth interception of the season) and fumbled twice. Mahomes lags miles behind his MVP form.
