NY Jets Fantasy Football: Winners and Losers from Week 11
By Chris Nass
Same stuff — different week! Fortunately, there are a few bright spots for the NY Jets, such as their 2021 NFL Draft class. Still, even that wasn't enough to beat the Miami Dolphins this week.
To take the focus off the loss a bit, let's take a look at the players who were the winners and losers in fantasy football in Week 11.
QB Winners
Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers | 35.3 fantasy points
Justin Herbert is the best fantasy football quarterback this week. 30-of-41 passing attempts for 382 yards and three touchdowns with only one interception and nine rushes for 90 yards made for outstanding performance and a win on Sunday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, this was not Herbert's best performance of the season. He had that in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles | 30.8 fantasy points
Jalen Hurts continues to develop into the perfect fantasy football quarterback. In just one of his 11 starts this season, Hurts has had less than 16 fantasy points and eight times over 20 fantasy points.
In this week's win over New Orleans Saints, Jalen Hurts put up his season-best performance. 13-of-24 passing for 147 yards is not outstanding, but his running game certainly is with 18 rushes for 69 yards and three touchdowns.
Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers | 26.2 fantasy points
For Cam Newton, his first start for his old love, the Carolina Panthers, was certainly something special. After all, it was against the Washington Football Team coached by Newton's former coach Ron Rivera.
Newton wasn't able to prevent the loss, but he showed that he's back. 21-of-27 passing for 189 yards and two touchdowns as well 10 rushes for 46 yards and a touchdown certainly confirm that.
QB Losers
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys | 2.6 fantasy points
Dak Prescott had a used day against the Kansas City Chiefs. He completed 28 of his 43 pass attempts for 216 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. Additionally, Prescott was sacked five times. This ultimately made for his worst performance of the season.
Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks | 6.5 fantasy points
Okay, Russell Wilson was better against the Arizona Cardinals than he was the week before against the Green Bay Packers. Still, it was the second straight game without a touchdown for Wilson.
14-of-26 passing for 207 yards and two rushes for a total of two yards — that's it. Are we witnessing the end of the Russell Wilson era in Seattle right now?
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs | 7.5 fantasy points
The Kansas City Chiefs were able to win their matchup against the Dallas Cowboys thanks to their strong defense. Patrick Mahomes, however, did not look particularly good once again. Mahomes completed 23 of his 37 pass attempts.
He gained 260 yards but failed to score a touchdown for the second time this season. An interception and a lost fumble made for Mahomes' second-worst performance of the season.
