NY Jets to start with confidence

  • NY Jets Defense
  • RB James Robinson

I have the utmost confidence in the Jets' defense, and so should you. Since Wilson's return, they've only allowed more than 20 points in one game so far this season.

It's no coincidence that this was also the same game that Wilson threw three interceptions with all three giving the Patriots great starting field position.

Assuming Wilson throws fewer picks (or more convenient ones that give the Patriots the ball on their own side of the field), the defense should pick the streak back up with another sub-20 performance for Mac Jones and the gang. After being teased with a pick-six in multiple games, Jeff Ulbrich's crew must be itching for one. Could this week be the one?

Regardless of the pick-six, we can expect low-scoring and multiple sacks, so the Jets' defense is certainly a must-start. On the other side of the ball, the closest thing to a certainty is the production of James Robinson. He scored his first touchdown as a Jet last week and is getting more comfortable with the playbook every day.

Robinson only had a few days before the first Patriots game, but after a full week of preparation against the Bills, he out-touched Carter 15 to 13 despite being less efficient with yardage.

Something tells me Robinson was brought in to be the RB1, and with his explosion and value in the passing game, I can't disagree.

Next. Grading the 2022 NY Jets rookie class at the bye week. dark

I admittedly am starting both him and Carter this week in fantasy because I think both will be used often in a game where limiting Wilson's mistakes is of the highest priority, but in any given game (and moving forward) I'm more optimistic about Robinson's production/consistency until further notice.
