With the NY Jets currently sitting at 7-4, without any context, one would guess that it has been a fairy tale season considering the expectations for the team. This season has still been an emotional rollercoaster despite the largely positive results.

One of the biggest reasons why is that Jets fans have been conditioned to be anxious and nervous over the last number of decades. Fans have also become accustomed to worrying about "next season" very early on considering previous poor performances.

This mentality has a lot of fans worrying about the future of the quarterback position as it is the hot topic for the team with Zach Wilson being benched for Mike White.

Finally, Jets fans have not had the luxury of being in this position with a good football team for quite some time. The motto of "acting like you've been there before" is hard to live up to in this case.

NY Jets fans still need time to get used to winning

The goal for this organization is to get used to what winning feels like. While the players are fully bought in, it is understandably taking fans a bit of time to have that expectation and become more level-headed week to week. It's a process.

Head coach Robert Saleh has gone above and beyond in showing that he is the right man for the job to lead this organization. There is a young core that will be part of this team for a long time to come.

Even though there is a looming question at the most important position in sports for the franchise, this version of the 2022 Jets is in a position to not just play in, but win, meaningful football games in December and January.

It's a difficult task to do when so many habits have already been built from watching bad football, but as the team enters a pivotal stretch run, Jets fans should block out the quarterback drama and enjoy how far this franchise has come.
