Atlanta Falcons RB/WR Cordarrelle Patterson's prop for receiving yards this week is 44.5 (o/u)

For the second consecutive week, the Jets will face an opponent that has been absolutely ravaged by injuries to their top skill position players.

Atlanta will be without both Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage in this one leaving the team's receiving corps incredibly thin. In reality, Sunday should be the Kyle Pitts and Cordarrelle Patterson show for Atlanta's offense.

Which is why Patterson's 44.5 receiving yards projection is so puzzling. Patterson is virtually one of two proven targets in the Falcons' offense and is fresh off one of the best games of his career when he hauled in five catches for 82 yards and three touchdowns a week ago.

He's finished with 58 or more receiving yards in each of his last three games. Why would that figure drop below 45 with Gage and now Ridley out?

Expect the Falcons to feed Patterson on Sunday with the talented return man serving as a featured part of their offense.

Even against a Jets secondary that's impressed so far this season, Patterson should be able to hit the over here based on volume alone.
