With the NY Jets just days away from beginning training camp, it will be the last real glimpse at the roster before the preseason begins.

General manager Joe Douglas has done quite a bit in the offseason, building an offense that has the potential to wash the bad taste of the Adam Gase era out of fans' mouths.

On top of that, he has also reinforced the defense, which head coach Robert Saleh will hope to help each and every player reach their ceiling. There is much promise for this young team.

But while the Jets rookies have yet to even begin their first season, it isn't too early to look ahead to next year.

Even without playing a down, it's no doubt that the Jets roster is still filled with holes. The team is fresh off of a 2-14 season, so it will take more than one year to patch up all the mistakes made by the previous regime.

Thankfully, Joe Douglas has put the team in an excellent position.

Two huge trades during Douglas's tenure have given the Jets a plethora of draft picks to help rebuild a depleted team. The trade that sent Jamal Adams to Seattle, and a trade that sent Sam Darnold to the Carolina Panthers loaded the Jets up on draft capital.

Additional trades like sending Avery Williamson to Pittsburgh, or Steve McLendon to Tampa Bay means that the Jets will be playing with 11 total picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, including four picks within the first two rounds.

Now that we're all set, let's begin the NY Jets' 2022 way-too-early mock draft. For reference, Pro Football Network's mock draft simulator was used.
