NY Jets still hold two top picks in the 2022 NFL Draft after Week 17

As the 2021 NFL season nears it end, the NY Jets will head into next year with prime draft capital. Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while unfortunate, didn't hurt the Jets' draft picks for 2022.
If the season ended today, the Jets would hold the No. 4 and 7 picks of the draft, as well as No. 35 and 38 in the second round, according to Tankathon.
As Jets fans well know, the No. 7 pick was gifted to them by the Seattle Seahawks while the No. 38 pick was part of a trade with the Carolina Panthers.
NY Jets would have the No. 4 and No. 5 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft
New York may be looking to upgrade its pass-rushing unit first and foremost and could spring for Oregon prospect Kayvon Thibodeaux or Purdue's George Karlaftis as the No. 4 pick, if either is on the board.
Other position groups the Jets will want to bolster are tight end, the offensive line, and the secondary, among others.
The Jets can pat themselves on the back for a very productive 2021 NFL Draft that saw New York pick up a potential franchise quarterback in Zach Wilson, an offensive guard standout in Alijah Vera-Tucker, and two promising weapons in Elijah Moore and Michael Carter.
Come 2022, the bar for general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh to make smart, tactical choices for the franchise's future is higher than ever.
Don't waste these precious draft picks.
