The NY Jets could have their eyes on a number of the top wide receivers in the 2022 NFL Draft. One such player is Arkansas standout Treylon Burks.

Burks is widely considered to be one of the top wide receivers in this year's class with most projecting him to be a surefire first-round pick. Evidently, the Jets are among the teams interested.

D.J. Bien-Aime of the New York Daily News is reporting that the Jets are expected to use an official pre-draft visit on Burks. Others that will reportedly do the same include the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Tennessee Titans.

With the 4th and 10th selections in this year's draft, as well as picks 35 and 38 in the second round, it's highly likely that the Jets address the wide receiver position early. Burks is seemingly a player they're targeting.

Treylon Burks makes some sense as a target for the NY Jets

At 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, Burks emerged as one of the best wide receivers in college football following a junior season that saw him finish with 66 catches for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns in 12 games this past year.

He was named first-team All-SEC and began to receive legitimate Round 1 hype as the year went on. Some have even projected him to go as early as 10th overall to the Jets.

His stock has fallen a little in recent weeks following a subpar NFL Combine performance, but it remains to be seen just how much NFL teams will care about that. The Jets certainly make sense as a potential landing spot.

Burks is an absolute force with the ball in his hands and someone who thrives both in 50/50 and in catch-and-run situations. He knows how to use his size to shield defensive backs while he also has the speed to outrun defenders in open space.

He's been compared to the likes of A.J. Brown and Deebo Samuel and it's easy to see him fitting in with a Jets' offense that's looking for guys who can make plays after the catch.

The Jets are also in desperate need of a wide receiver with more size and contested-catch ability and Burks would provide them with just that.

Expect Treylon Burks to be on the Jets' radar come next month's draft. They're already making sure to do their due diligence.
