NY Jets land Kayvon Thibodeaux and more in 7-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft
By Justin Fried
It's Sunday which means we have another NY Jets mock draft coming your way. It's getting pretty difficult to write these intros without repeating myself or boring you to death.
Does anyone actually read this part? I could probably just write whatever I want in this spot and no one would even notice. If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around...and all that stuff.
You know the drill. We used The Draft Network's Mock Machine this week to go through yet another Jets mock draft. I have to say, we had a little bit of luck this time and I think it turned out pretty good.
You can be the judge of that, though. Here's our latest Jets' seven-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft projection.
Round 1, 4th Overall, NY Jets: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
There's serious buzz around Oregon's Kayvon Thibodeaux falling out of the top three and into the Jets' laps at pick No. 4. And that's exactly what happened here with the Detroit Lions opting to select LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. instead.
We weren't going to complain. Long seen as a future No. 1 overall pick, Thibodeaux has everything teams looking for in a potential star pass rusher. He has great size/length at 6-foot-5, 258 pounds, superb athleticism, and a well-rounded pass-rush arsenal.
Thibodeaux has perhaps the best first-step explosiveness in the class and he plays with a high motor and determination which leads you to believe that he will reach his ceiling at the NFL level.
Kayvon Thibodeaux is the real deal, and if he falls to the Jets at 4, they should be running to the podium.
