NY Jets quarterback depth chart

Starter: Zach Wilson

• Backups: James Morgan, Mike White

It would be a shocker and a disappointment if Zach Wilson is not under center in Week 1 against Carolina. By the same token, it would be a shocker if James Morgan and Mike White are backing up Wilson when the season starts.

Both young quarterbacks are getting valuable reps and time with the new offensive staff, but it's too much to ask of them to assume the insurance role at quarterback.

Expect the Jets to sign or acquire a veteran signal-caller at some point like Nick Foles, Nick Mullens, Robert Griffin III, etc.

NY Jets running back depth chart

• Starter: Tevin Coleman

• Backups: Michael Carter, Ty Johnson, La'Mical Perine, Josh Adams, Austin Walter

Like quarterback, the Jets will have a completely different starter at running back than they had when last season started. However, unlike QB, this won't be a one-person show regardless of who is designated the starter.

By default and based on his veteran status and experience within the Jets' new rushing scheme, Tevin Coleman is a safe bet to get the starting nod. However, players like Ty Johnson and Michael Carter could be significant contributors right out the gate.
