NY Jets vs. Browns inactives: Is Greg Zuerlein playing tonight?

The NY Jets will take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 17 in what will be the final Thursday Night Football game of the 2023 season. For the Jets, they're just looking to finish out what has been a disastrous few months for the organization.

The Aaron Rodgers injury sent Gang Green into a tailspin, and with just two games remaining in the season, all eyes are already on 2024. These final two games will serve to determine draft position and little more.

Meanwhile, the 10-5 Browns are being led by former Jets quarterback Joe Flacco, who has turned back the clock and has played some of the best football of his career over the last few weeks.

The Browns may be on their fourth different starting quarterback of the season with an offensive line decimated by injuries — much like the Jets — but they're fighting for a playoff spot and their division title instead of a top-10 draft pick. Turns out you can still compete when things go wrong!

Both teams enter this game with hefty injury reports, as is commonplace for Week 17 of the NFL season. The Jets will be without quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), quarterback Zach Wilson (concussion), and tight end Jeremy Ruckert (concussion) in tonight's game.

Offensive tackle Duane Brown was ruled out with a hip injury and placed on the season-ending injured reserve on Wednesday. Wide receiver Allen Lazard, listed as questionable with an illness, is also not expected to play.

Meanwhile, running back Israel Abanikanda (ankle) and kicker Greg Zuerlein (quad) are both listed as questioned for this game. However, both players are expected to be active. The Jets did not elevate kicker Austin Seibert from the practice squad — a direct indication that Zuerlein will play.

As for the Browns, they'll be without kicker Dustin Hopkins (hamstring), defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo (pectoral), and linebacker Anthony Walker (knee). Punter Corey Bojorquez (quad) is listed as doubtful and is not expected to play.

Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (heel), wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (knee), and safety Juan Thornhill (calf) are all listed as questionable. Cooper is expected to be inactive.
