The NY Jets will travel to Cleveland in Week 2 to take on the Browns. The AFC North gauntlet continues for gang Green as they'll be hoping to bounce back after a sluggish, disappointing defeat at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1.
The Jets stumbled out of the starting gate following a putrid offensive performance and some special-teams gaffes. The defense played well, but the Jets' offense will need to perform much better in Week 2 if they're going to win their first game of the season.
This is a beatable Browns team that needed a game-winning field goal to defeat the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. Jacoby Brissett isn't going to strike fear into opposing defenses, but Myles Garrett and a stout Browns pass rush presents a challenging opposition for any NFL offense.
Let's take a look at some of the best bets you can make for this week's Jets/Browns matchup. All odds are courtesy of FanDuel.
Best NY Jets Bets Week 2
Browns moneyline (-290)
This feels like a must-win game for the Jets who travel into Cleveland in need of an early-season victory against a beatable team. Unfortunately, it's hard to see this Jets' offense faring much better against Garrett and company on Sunday.
Give me the Browns moneyline here. I think the defense holds up their end of the bargain, but the Jets aren't going to win this game unless they can score points. It's hard to have confidence in Joe Flacco and this injury-riddled offensive line against the Browns' front seven.
Nick Chubb anytime touchdown scorer (-115)
If you're betting on any player to score a touchdown in Sunday's game, it should be Nick Chubb. Chubb was incredibly productive in Week 1, finishing with 141 yards on 22 carries.
While the Jets' run defense was superb against the Ravens, it still seems fair to predict that Chubb will score at least once. He has 39 touchdowns in 59 career games — this feels like a safe bet.
Nick Chubb UNDER 82.5 rushing yards (-113)
That said, I'm willing to bet on the under for Chubb rushing yards in Week 2. The Jets' defense held the Ravens to 63 rushing yards last Sunday — the lowest single-game total of the Lamar Jackson era.
The Jets are going to do everything they can to force the Browns to beat them in the air. Chubb might find some success, but 82.5 yards is a very high over/under. Give me the under this week. I have faith in this Jets' run defense after what we saw last week.
