NY Jets Tight Ends/Fullback

  • Tyler Kroft, Ryan Griffin, Daniel Brown, Trevon Wesco
  • Practice Squad: Kenny Yeboah

Over a week ago, I wrote about some potential surprise departures in this group. And it came when Chris Herndon was dealt to the Minnesota Vikings, along with a sixth-round pick in 2022 for a fourth-round pick in next year's draft.

Joe Douglas used the vested veteran loophole to release Daniel Brown and Ryan Griffin on cut-down day, only to bring them back without undergoing the waiver process.

For a moment there, the Jets had only one tight end on their roster, which led to speculation of a move on a grand scale at that position. It wasn't to be for now.

Kenny Yeboah made it through waivers. Before long, he could and arguably should be on the Jets' active roster.

NY Jets Offensive Linemen

  • Mekhi Becton, George Fant, Morgan Moses, Conner McGovern, Greg Van Roten, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Chuma Edoga, Dan Feeney
  • Practice Squad: Jimmy Murray, Isaiah Williams, Grant Hermanns
  • Short-term IR: Conor McDermott

For now, the Jets are rolling with eight offensive linemen. The option to elevate two players from the practice squad every week leaves the door open for one of those players to help fortify the team's depth on game days.

Otherwise, the Jets are rolling the dice with only one true interior backup on game days in guard/center Dan Feeney.

The entire key to the Jets' success on their offensive line, coached by John Benton, will be the play of its first-round duo on the left side. Mekhi Becton and Alijah Vera-Tucker need to play at a high level.
