NY Jets LG Alijah Vera-Tucker named to PFF's All-Rookie OL
By Kristen Wong
NY Jets left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker has earned a nice honor following his 2021 season performance.
The Jets rookie missed just one game and played 100 percent of snaps in the other 16 in his first year in the NFL and has received deserved recognition for his contributions.
He was recently named to PFF's All-Rookie offensive line along with four other offensive starlets from across the league:
Los Angeles Chargers' Rashawn Slater owns the left tackle position, Kansas City Chiefs' Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith are the All-Rookie center and right guard respectively, and Detroit Lions' Penei Sewell completes the unit at right tackle.

Many consider Vera-Tucker to be New York's best offensive lineman despite being a rookie. In Mekhi Becton's absence, Vera-Tucker has held down the left side of the Jets' offensive line admirably.
The 2021 first-rounder out of USC has delivered on all fronts proving his strength and athleticism to provide crucial pass protection for Zach Wilson.
He's also one of the main reasons fellow rookie Michael Carter could enjoy a productive run game in 2021, and Vera-Tucker only got better as the season progressed.
Along with Wilson, Carter, and Elijah Moore, Vera-Tucker has continually been one of the brightest spots of the Jets' 2021 draft class, and his future with the franchise grows only brighter.
When Mekhi Becton hopefully returns in 2022, New York will have a truly elite offensive line that will help the team win more games next season.
Expectations will remain high for Vera-Tucker, who has already made an immediate impact on this young Jets team but could grow to be a cornerstone player for the franchise for years to come.
