8. NY Jets target: Carson Green, OT, Houston Texans

The Jets are desperate for offensive line depth at the moment. A unit that actually appeared to have quite a bit of depth in the summer has lost the likes of Alex Lewis, Cameron Clark, and Conor McDermott, not to mention the mammoth loss of Mekhi Becton.

Dan Feeney, Chuma Edoga, and Isaiah Williams are the lone backup offensive linemen on the roster. If one Jets lineman goes down with an injury, one of those players will be called into action. That's far from ideal.

Former Texas A&M standout Carson Green put together a strong summer and was a player who many believed would receive some action on the waiver wire.

Ultimately, he ended up rejoining the Houston Texans' practice squad. Green not only has more upside than the 28-year-old Williams, but he played significantly better in training camp and the preseason.

It might not be a significant upgrade, but it would be an upgrade.

7. NY Jets target: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Las Vegas Raiders

Three of the four safeties under contract with the Jets haven't been on the team for more than two weeks, at the time of writing. And it's hard to get excited about the prospects of any of Colbert, Redwine, or Wilson starting.

Perhaps the Jets could turn to a notable name in hopes of adding some veteran experience to their defensive backfield.

Former Pro Bowl safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was released by the San Francisco 49ers this summer and recently signed on with the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad.

He hasn't played in a regular-season game since 2019 and is well past his prime, but he might just be a better option than any safety currently on the Jets roster. Not that that's saying very much.
