4. NY Jets trade target: Jaylon Ferguson (Baltimore Ravens)

On the opposite end of the spectrum, one low-profile player who could pique the Jets' interest is Jaylon Ferguson.

Ferguson broke Terrell Suggs' all-time FBS sack record at Louisiana Tech earning him the nickname "Sack Daddy." The Ravens hoped that they were getting the second-coming of Suggs when they drafted him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Unfortunately, his career trajectory has taken a very different route.

Ferguson has been largely an afterthought over his first two seasons struggling to adapt to the speed of the NFL game. And going into the 2021 season, he's not even guaranteed a roster spot.

As such, this would be a classic instance of a low-risk, potentially high-reward deal for Gang Green.

It's unlikely the Jets would need to send over anything more than a late-round pick or a swap of late-round picks to acquire Ferguson, a player who finds himself on the roster bubble following the addition of Justin Houston.

Ferguson flashed his pass-rush traits at Louisiana Tech, but for whatever reason, it hasn't clicked for him yet in the NFL.

Maybe it never will. But if the Jets want to add a little extra depth with a potentially high ceiling attached, they could do a lot worse than Jaylon Ferguson.
