5. NY Jets trade target: Chandler Jones (Arizona Cardinals)

When the news first broke that the Jets were looking to trade for a pass rusher, there was one name that immediately sprung to mind — Arizona Cardinals star Chandler Jones.

Jones requested a trade this past July as he was unhappy with his current contract situation. To this point, nothing has really come of the request and Jones appears as though he's going to play out the final year of his contract in Arizona.

That is, unless a team like the Jets swoops in and make a move.

Jones may be on the wrong side of 30 (he turned 31 in February), but he's still playing at an exceptionally high level. His 2020 season was cut short after just five games due to a torn bicep, but his track record speaks for itself.

Just two years ago, Jones finished with a whopping 19 sacks and an NFL-best eight forced fumbles. From 2015 to 2019, he never recorded fewer than 11 sacks in a season and he topped 17 twice.

Chandler Jones is one of the best pass rushers of his generation, and even though he isn't getting any younger, he remains a world-class talent.

The issues arise with what the Jets might have to give up in exchange for Jones and what type of contract extension they would (presumably) give him. After all, it's unlikely they're in the business of trading for one-year rentals right now.

Jones is hardly the most likely trade candidate, but he is the only multi-time All-Pro on this list.
