NY Jets: 4 pleasant surprises from training camp so far
By Justin Fried

2. Jarrad Davis, LB, NY Jets
Jarrad Davis signed with the Jets this offseason looking to rehab his career after a tumultuous four years in Detroit.
The 21st overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Davis struggled mightily during his time with the Lions and never seemed to settle into a consistent role.
It didn't help that he was playing out of position in a Matt Patricia system known for its misuse of players. The Jets took a chance on Davis hoping that he could finally realize his potential under head coach Robert Saleh.
So far in training camp, he's flashed the athleticism that once made him a first-round pick.
Davis made one of the best defensive plays of training camp thus far when he picked off Zach Wilson during Thursday's practice. Many believe he could be an under-the-radar impact addition to the Jets' defense.

Davis could end up being a really nice signing somewhat on the DL. He and Mosley could give the #Jets two comeback guys at ILB.
(That play, btw, was sandwiched by two nice throws by Wilson to Corey Davis)
Now playing strong-side linebacker in Saleh's scheme, Davis won't be asked to take on as much responsibility as he did in Detroit.
Saleh will let him run free, and the result could be the best version of Jarrad Davis that we've seen.
