The 2021 NFL season is finally here, with the NY Jets taking on the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. After a positive offseason for Gang Green, there is plenty of optimism for a more successful year than in 2020.

New quarterback Zach Wilson had a stellar preseason and the Jets' offense looks like it has come on heaps and bounds under new offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur.

And despite losing their elite edge rusher Carl Lawson to injury, there is a lot to build on for the young Jets defense in 2021.

With plenty of new personnel coming in across the roster, competition for places has been high throughout the offseason and starting roles are still up for grabs.

It means that many returning players go into the new season with a point to prove, including the second-years pros. Here are four players with a huge point to prove going into the 2021 season.
