18. Jimmy Garoppolo (San Francisco 49ers)

• Cumulative ranking: 18.67
• Highest ranking: 14
• Lowest ranking: 22

Jimmy Garoppolo is the first of four quarterbacks on this list still playing football as we approach the end of January. And while that might be surprising to some, it's a situation he's been in before.

Garoppolo is almost the definition of an average quarterback. He does his job for 75 percent of the game and will make a few 'wow' throws here and there, but he always couples that with a back-breaking turnover that puts his team in a bind.

That, in essence, is who Jimmy Garoppolo is. Still, that was enough for one voter to rank him 14th in the NFL, perhaps his unlikely postseason run was considered.

This is a good spot for Garoppolo, and it's unlikely to be one he will rise too far above.

17. Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)

• Cumulative ranking: 18.33
• Highest ranking: 14
• Lowest ranking: 23

Jalen Hurts was another surprise standout from 2021. Benefiting from one of the easiest schedules in the NFL, Hurts led his team to a 9-8 record (8-7 in games he started) on the brink of the postseason.

Widely seen as a bottom-five QB entering the year, Hurts proved some of his detractors wrong finishing with 26 total touchdowns (16 passing) and nine interceptions completing 61 percent of his passes and averaging 7.3 yards per attempt.

Hurts proved he's a player the Eagles should continue to build around for the future. Is he the long-term solution in Philadelphia? That much remains to be seen.

But right now, he's comfortably ranked in the middle of our QB power rankings.
